Murdakkh is by far one of New Jersey’s top artists. His clarity on the microphone has set him apart from his fellow artist. Murdakkh was raised in America but his roots go back to Belize Central America. He learned from young that lyrics alone were not the answer. He has set out to be the main producer on his up and coming album “The warm up”. With an appetite for music Murdakkh is preparing for his six course meal. Right now he is gearing up for his month tour in June of this summer in the state of California. The tour is called “Who’s next to blow”. With all the excitement buzzing around the artist of course the press would find his story intriguing. In the start of this year he has been the talk of not only his fans, fellow artist but also London own Niji Magazine. They will be covering Murdakkh’s daily movements while on tour to bring light to the actual life of an independent artist on tour. With his album “The warm up” coming in the later part of the summer, fans and Murdakkh him self is excited to see the end result.

Murdakkh for the last two years has been working with Aireal Apparel a Virginia based clothing line company. He met the owner J.R Bautista online via face book. Murdakkh was working on the visual part of his album and was excited about the products Aireal Apparel has put out. Aireal Apparel invited Murdakkh out in the summer of 2010 to the Asia American Basketball Association (AABL) to perform. Since the then Murdakkh and Aireal Apparel relationship has grown to where the clothing line company has offered to be the artist Sponsor for his tour. With that said Murdakkh’s decided to create his first single around the concept of one of Aireal Apparel biggest selling products, the fly or die T-shirt. The Fly or die single will have a 12 week national radio campaign thru PF and Associates. With the single receiving national airplay we know “The warm up” album will definitely have a successful 1^st week sale.

E.H.M.P: It's my pleasure to interview artist Murdakkh. How you and what are do your represent as an artist/producer?

Murdakkh: I am doing pretty good thanks for asking. I am a hip hop artist
from Jersey.

E.H.M.P: Tell us more about the album "The Warm Up" and your strategy for the success of this project?

Murdakkh: The warm up is my first real big release on my new label Vicious
Production. When we went into recording the project the main focus
was getting some collaboration in with fellow artist in my area. The Warm up
has about 5 to 6 features with artist like Le Doubleny, Luey P, Newton, Bumpy 103rd, we just went in and recorded 20 songs and took the best 10. I just wanted to be as free as possible in the creation of this project. I think you guys might like some of the skits.

E.H.M.P: How did it come about your performing in the "Who's next to Blow Tour" going on in California? What are your expectations on how you will be received?

Murdakkh: Actually the tour was quite bit of a disappointment. Not only did we
not get out there but I had a big issue with the management of the tour. PF and associates I felt were not prepared for what they were asking from the artist. The company still owes me money for a plane ticket that was never resolved. So with that said Fuck PF and
associates.

E.H.M.P: How did you connect with London's own Niji Magazine? How has that connection impacted your movement thus far?

Murdakkh: It was the winter of 2010 when I had a awesome opportunity to meet
the editor Mr Michael Cox. He flew out from London to vacation in NY
and I had the pleasure to sit down with him for an interview. We have
kept in touch and have built our relation ship via twitter and face book. The connection has helped me so much. I will be flying out there to Camden; London for a show on May 19th 2012, hosted by NIJIMAGAZINE. I have been able to access more artists that are performing and touring because of my relationship with NIJI.

E.H.M.P: You have surely been blessed. Tell us what we can expect from your affiliation with Aireal Apparel Clothing Line, and the idea to incorporate "The Fly or Die" T Shirt with your single "The Fly or Die"?

Murdakkh: Well Aireal and I and have a lot of things working down the pipeline
that we want to put in place. Def, we are going to plan a fashion show for late 2012 to spring 2013. I also will be doing a “Aireal Mix tape” called Fly or Die over the course of this year, with artist that I know and few on the rise thru out the states. I was trying to
bridge the gap between designers and performing artist.

E.H.M.P: How did you become affiliated with A.D. The General and what are your views on the services the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program Provides for artist to date?

Murdakkh: I have known A.D. for about 3 to 4 years on and off. Thru my
underground connections with Remy aka Mr 13th and Titio Baez aka LOST,
I was able to meet up with her again and had the blessing to win one of her Monthly competition. I know E.H.M.P is a good program that I’ve seen with my own two eyes help new and returning artist find there place to shine and be successful. I would not be surprised if E.H.M.P is not responsible for putting on a good percentage of underground artist in 2012 and beyond..

E.H.M.P: What is something fans would not know about you and who do you think is your biggest fan/supporter? Who are some of your major influences?

Murdakkh: I don’t think fans know that I eat Oreo cookies 8 times a day, I’m sorry I’m really just a big kid at heart. My biggest fan beside my beautiful wife would be my good friend Joyce. She has always been to all the shows in the last 2 years and I respect that even on nights when she had school the next day. I’m thankful for that really I am. My major influences in music are Damien Jr Gong Marley, Nas, Pusha T, and Coldplay the greatest band on the planet.

A+ POLO

The proliferation of the internet has given modern recording artists many advantages that past artists didn’t have. For those that are growing up with the technology they really have an innate understanding of how to use it to their full advantage. Enter A+Polo, many have started off writing poems before progressing to lyrics and in that regard he is no different but that is where any comparisons end. Still at a young age he has recorded, performed at many venues and has had "deals". EHMP sits down to talk with this up and coming artist.

EHMP: How long have you been pursuing a music career and what was your inspiration to get started?

A+Polo: It all started from my poetic beginning back in 2008. I used to post poems as notes on Face book, and overtime people started to notice my talent. The feedback I was getting drove me to continue on, and one day Alexander Herrington (aka King A.T.G) of Creastland Boy Records came across one of my post. He messaged me asking if I ever tried rapping, and that he had seen potential in me to become a recording artist. So we set up a session, he liked what he heard, and he took me under his wing.

EHMP: How would you describe your style, who were some of your early influences and what makes you different?

A+Polo: I see myself as the versatile artist. I appreciate story telling as well as telling my own stories within my music. Honesty in music is a lost art among my generation, but I aim to resurrect it. I enjoy making club and party themed songs as well. Influences range from the Notorious B.I.G. to Lupe to BTNH, especially since I'm a Cleveland, OH native.

EHMP: You have been involved with labels and had deals before, tell us about that experience.

A+Polo: Yes. As I aforementioned Crestland Boy Records scooped me up, although I wasn't signed to them. The time spent with them was more on the artist development side. They assisted me with studio time, extremely talented producers, and introduced me to that feeling of being an artist. I now am committed to Audacrease Entertainment Group, an independent record label out of Columbia, SC. So far we both have been growing rapidly in maturity as well as stature. We plan to continue on that path.

EHMP: Any current projects?

A+Polo: Of course! I am currently working on all original self entitled album, "Knormul". It’s completely produced by either myself or my producer Zeli. Seeing as it’s my introduction to the world, you can expect to hear the many avenues of my life and this journey I'm embarking on. Release dates are to be decided, but I make sure to provide the fans with updates.

A.D. THE GENERAL: The Mad Scientist, break down your name?

MAD SCIENTIST: My name is one of many. Let me explain. In my search for unique identity in the music world. My name has changed. Per the different stages in my life from high school through college and post graduating. Heck, the list is still growing! I was DJ Schammy when I first began as a teenager. Than Mr. Chin (homage to an Asian heritage), DJ Stallion, Proffesor, Jny Bravo than Mad Scientist 730. I know it's a lot. Hell, I got future one's too. Mad Scientist came about as a joke, to be honest. I was producing for an artist album and I posted on my facebook status "I'm in the lab, I'm Mad Scientist". Then they called me and was going crazy saying that's your name from now on! So naturally, I bought a few pairs of nerd glasses and a lab coat. It seemed like the right thing to do. The "730" part is like a code of ethics that is integrated in the name. It represents personal challenges and success. They say there is a thin line between insanity and genius. Well I drunkenly moonwalk on that line. It means by 7:30, I've done more than most. Will do their whole day and 7:30 p.m. review your check list and note your progress. I am all about encouraging people to win despite circumstances.

A.D. THE GENERAL: Congrats on your recent nomination at the Top Ten Artist Of the Year Award at Elegant Hoodness. How do you feel about your nomination?

MAD SCIENTIST: I am excited! Even if I didn't win, I am going to come out a winner. I will be in the room with a plethora of talent! Plus I'm sure I can work a few deals and make some paper for my beats too. Seriously though, I've never won an award for my music before but a nomination is awesome. Plus some of my many friends that I've met along the way will be in the building. So I'll cheer them on as well. I take pride in seeing people win through adversity, even if it's not me.

A.D. THE GENERAL: How long have you been producing? And, what separates you from the average producer?

MAD SCIENTIST: Man Oh man, I've been producing since college, so about ten years now. I started when my boy Ash Max had fruity loops on his computer and I've never seen anything like it before. No lie, hand to GOD, I remade Darth Vader's theme music from Star Wars; with my own 730 twist to it of course. I replaced a section of violins with a distorted guitar, a real grungy sound. Than I said "hey, how do I add drums?" This is where you add your horror music and the Grinch's evil grin. From that moment I began the incubation for the producer I am today. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't always a banging producer. Some people had hit or miss. I had more misses than hits [laugh]. But, I began to get my own equipment and computer, thanks to my father who supported my dream!

What separates me from the average producer are a few key things. The mere fact that I refuse to be average or plain, I must stand out above all others. Next I would attribute to my multicultural heritage. I am American and share Jamaican blood via my mother. This inner diversity has helped me far beyond my comprehension at one time. Growing up listening to Bob Marley, Beres Hammond, Sanchez, Garnett Silk, Shabba Ranks, Buju Banton, Beenie Man and my musical idol Bounty Killer has harnessed my love for Reggae and Dance Hall music.My father being and American have enriched my musical knowledge with so many other forms of music that has been ignored by younger generations and even my own. Such as classical, soft rock, jazz, classic soul and disco; rap didn't become relevant to me until my pre-teen year! I was on that Sade, Anita Baker, Barry White, Phil Collins, Mike Davis, Billy Joel wave. So when I produce you're not only going to get their influences but also their techniques for making good music. I am very technical when I produce. I may not know all the terms but I know what it is when I hear it. Besides that long winded explanation, I am attracted to how music can influence a person's mood. That is the part that peaks my interest the most! I at one time was a party animal and I loved how music compelled a person to dance and that is what I strive to do, make you dance.

A.D. THE GENERAL: How did you come across the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program? And do you feel the program genuinely helps artist and how has it helped you?

MAD SCIENTIST: It's a funny story how I met A.D.. I was on twitter looking for people that were putting on talent shows in NYC because I wanted to genuinely be apart of it and help out. And I believe it was Kevin AnR who pointed me in her direction. I sent her a tweet and the rest was history. She called me in for an interview as an intern and we hit it off. A.D. is a sweet and wonderful person. She is dedicated to helping young artist get to the next level in their en devours. She has helped me in that way as well. I've met some great friends with her. I've networked my butt off and made some sweet connects. Elegant Hoodness Musical Program is a great platform for entrepreneurs, period. Love you, A.D.! Thank you. You have helped me beyond what you are aware of, respect.

A.D. THE GENERAL: I know you are a DJ and engineer as well. Do you mix and master your own records? And do you thin being a DJ and playing the latest hits help you when it's time to make a new record?

MAD SCIENTIST: Yes, I engineer and DJ as well. Hell, when you out it like that I sound like a jack of all trades. But yes, I engineer my own tracks and have worked in studios as well. Deejaying has played an important role in my production, as I stated before. I love how music influences people's mood. I use instruments in popular music that involve a physical response. I told you I'm technical. I study the neurological responses and utilize that data. When I produce a track, I create a mental scene to where the music is like a movie playing in my head. It's like momentary theme music.

WHO'S BLOCADE? FIND OUT WITH N.A.B

Born Christopher Newby and presently aka Blocade is one of today's emerging producers. Thriving from Virginia Beach, Blocade decided to pursue his music career in 2006. Ever since this decision it's been "no hold bart". With FL, (fruity loops) he began to learn about production. Listening to various sounds, Blocade was able to pick up his own paste. With the help of hip hop MC's such as Intalek, Amir the Legend and Stax Jeez, Blocade had the opportunity to accumulate, component sounds for. This contributed a lot in his up and coming career. As time progressed producer Namkrow aka Ill Cosby, cross paths with Blocade and it's been a straight grind since. Let's get further acquainted with Blocade.

SPECIALGIFT: Where did you get the name Blocade? What's the meaning behind it if anything?

BLOCADE: Well I actually got that name from my high school football days. I played running back and I would always break tackles and defenders would somehow get hurt hitting me from time to time. They would say, "you a damn Blockade", so it just stook to me and I just made it more unique by taking the K off, lol.

SPECIALGIFT: What inspired you to become a producer? Elaborate please.

BLOCADE: I use to always draw and create art and for inspiration. I would play a lot of beats and instrumentals and get immersed in the sound. I mainly listened to a lot of the Alchemist's Gangster Music themes, beat Cd's and classical music from Vivaldi. I was working two jobs back than around 2005-2007 as a cashier also at TJ Maxx. Also a graphic designer for this local t-shirt company. The employees of the t-shirt shop back than use to rap and they didn't have beats. I use to bring them beats from the Cd's I had and I saw I was good at picking beats for people. It sparked an interest on how to make art with sound instead of pencils and paints. Around this time I met two dope MC's by the name Intalek (very well known MC in VA) and Amir Legend. They would always play music in the stock room at TJ MAXX. I use to say "it would be dope if you guys use older songs and make them into your own". and Amir the Legend. They would always play music in the stockroom of TJ Maxx and I used to say "it would be dope if you guys would use older songs and make them into you own". At that time they said why don't you go and remake me this song from the Stylistics called "Break up to Make up". I went home and found that song on You tube and kept on listing to it over and over to see what I could do with it. During this time YouTube was fairly new and that's where I learned about Fl Studio and music being made with computers. I spent alot of time watching what little videos they had online and found a link to download the program. I was very new to what sequencers and chopping samples meant. I kept messing around with the program and I ended up making my first beat for them, they actually liked it, lol. When I look back those beats were horrible but it gave me the desire to keep at it. I just never stopped making beats from that point on.

SPECIALGIFT: How do you catch the contagion of excitement, that draws your listeners in?

BLOCADE: I just listen to alot of different music and get inspiration from the different sounds and the way it makes me move. I try to capture that same raw energy and make it so that the listeneres would gravitate to it and want to hear more from where that came from.

SPECIALGIFT: Some producers beats nowadays are languid to me. How do you stay away from being dull? I mean I do believe it take's spunk to become a relevant producer.

BLOCADE: Yes it does. I mainly just go from what sounds inspired me to produce and I try to adapt that same sound with whats current without sounding generic or outdated. Music is always changing and evolving so you have to look at current trends and see how you can work that into your sound. Makes you stand out without jumping on the bandwagon.

SPECIALGIFT: Will you take a moment and elaborate on your latest productions?

BLOCADE: My latest work is on LA artist Nocando, of hellyfyre club's EP called Zero Hour. I produced track seven called Oedipus. I also produced track seven called "Jimmy" off his and LA artist Busdriver group (Flash Bang Grenada) project called "10 Haters" that came out last August. I am also working on a track with VA artist Mass (From Illusive Media) and Famlay. I have some things in the works with Tragedy Khadafi and Ratchet Rush (from Wu - Tang South). I am also producing for my home team the Archerville Cartel (Sean Archer, Felonious Munk ,Jah Streetz, Itz tha Koncept and Klazik) the last three are some of the ill-est mc's I have ever heard. So we are putting in as much work as possible.

SPECIALGIFT: Is there anything in particular you would like your audience to be familiar with?

BLOCADE: I just want them to be familiar with the sound that I bring. Coming from VA we are at the bottom of the North and the top of the South. So we kinda have the sound of the east coast and the south right here, all mixed into one. I feel that you can hear that mixture in my beats.

I would like to welcome to the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program, a young man who represents his borough to the fullest, Brooklyn, N.Y.. He is new entity to hip hop, reggaeton, drummer boy topped off with Spanish swag. I would like to introduce you to the multi talented SoundBoy Cartagena aka Spanglish Carta. I must say first I have never heard of music in this manner. Until I looked at his videos on youtube. I was quite impressed. My sister enjoyed his style as well. Welcome SoundBoy Cartagena. N.A.B.: What made you want to become not just a rapper but one that blends other facets of music, to your art form?

SOUNDBOY CARTAGENA: Loving all genres, especially hip hop and salsa. Growing up in salsa and raised around hip hop.

N.A.B.: What makes you stand out from other Spanish rap or other recording artist?

SOUNDBOY CARTAGENA: I am representing the Latin culture with today's reality, Carta!

N.A.B.: To young Latinos/Latinas that are growing up listening to your music, what advice would you give them as far as getting in the music business?

SOUNDBOY CARTAGENA: "NO GGRRRIND NO SHINE" Believe in yourself. Waste your time on what can sell because it is what it is and this is a business.

N.A.B.: I see you represent your heritage and your borough of Brooklyn, NY in all your songs. What does your borough and heritage mean to you? Do you feel you music is making an inpact on your community? If so in what way?

SOUNDBOY CARTAGENA: Definitely impacting the community by making music that touch souls, spiritually and mentally. Yes, I rep my borough so hard. I'm also representing Latin America. Meaning all of the U.S., Latinos internationally.

N.A.B.: Nore did the Reggaeton infusion of Spanish rap in the past. What exactly would you call your style of rap and does it differ or have a new twist similar to Reggaeton?

SOUNDBOY CARTAGENA: "Spanglish" is what I call my genre or music style, Reggaeton! Not at all, I'm rapping on Latin rhythm. I have a couple of reggae joints I have done before that can be mistaking with reggaethon. Not saying I don't like it because I love reggaethon. I love almost all genres.

N.A.B.: I see you use a band and play the drums as well as blending it with hip hop with the group The Roots. Tell me who are some of your influences that inspired you to create this fusion of different genres of music?

SOUNDBOY CARTAGENA: I don't have many influences. What influences me is making my own kind of music. I was born in Salsa but raised in hip hop. Michael Jackson (Jackson 5) was always dope to me. Also all the salsa legends, including today's salsa legend, Marc Anthony. Yes, I have a 13 piece Latin Hip Hop Orchestra. I also play drums for a street rock band, on my side time.

Comparisons.....we are all subject to them, whether it be artistic ability, athletic prowess or anything else it’ something that can't be avoided. When that comparison is made between an arising artist and one that is legendary, it has the ability of being both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand it will garner the new artist a lot of attention, but at the same time subject them to a lot of scrutiny. How an artist fares in that situation: will depend on them maintaining their humility and of course their talent and output.

Our guest today Tayo is dealing with that situation currently. Read below as we get a little more familiar with him and his background.

EHMP: What made you want to be an artist?

Tayo: When I was like 8 I got a karaoke machine and always liked to put on a show. Music is my passion because doing it makes me feel good

EHMP: Who did you listen to growing up and did they influence your style?

Tayo: At first all I listened to was my older brother. He would come home with songs he made and that inspired me to do the same. But I listened to all kinds of music. I believe that's what gives me an edge and makes me a versatile as an artist.

EHMP: You have been compared to the great Big Pun, how does that affect you and how do you handle it?

Tayo: That's crazy. Actually it's very flattering because Pun was incredible. But I don't think my style is anything like Pun aside from the fact that we're Puerto Rican and we rap. I'm Tayo and while I am flattered I'd want to be known as my own artist.

EHMP: Do you battle?

Tayo: I have battled at times but it's not what I choose to put my energy into. I rather make music. I enjoy taking what I'm thinking and feeling and turning that into something people can listen to and relate to

EHMP: Do you produce your own tracks?

Tayo: I've dabbled a bit I think it's good to know as much as you can when it comes to doing what you do. And so I am familiar with many aspects of producing and engineering but that's a craft on it own and so I leave it to those guys.

EHMP: What makes you different from other artists, how do you stand out?

Tayo: I bring a different sound, a different swag; I am everything the industry needs. “I’m nice, I’m fresh, I’m blessed and I’m Puerto Rican” as said in my song haymaker. But one major characteristic Tayo has is he’s original. In my opinion the more original you’re, the more someone may be able to relate to what you’re saying. And at the end of the day it’s all about the people, the fans, if there not feeling you or they can’t relate to what your saying, then your duty as an artist, an entertainer, is pointless.

EHMP: What do you think of the current state of music?

Tayo: Music was at a point of downfall. Artist were falling off, it almost felt like music would never be the same again. But I can say music has definitely made a turn for the better these last 5 years. The only thing is a lot of artists are lacking that originality, therefore as a listener I find it difficult to relate to what he/she is saying. Music needs realism, it needs honesty, it needs to be created in such a way that anyone from any race or culture may be able to relate to it. That’s just how I see it.

EHMP: Where would you like to be in 5 years?

Tayo: World Tours, Collaborating with hip-hop’s most prestigious artists. I would like to expand my specialties and start acting as well. I would also like to open my own business to help amateur artists promote themselves correctly. I would like to buy my mama a new house and be a major iconic figure when people think of hip-hop.

EHMP: any recent or upcoming projects?

Tayo: I’m working on a soundtrack for a short film being made for a phenomenal book titled “Rise to Grace – A Genuine Street Story” written by Angel Huertas. The book just hit Barnes and Noble a few months ago and it’s gotten great reviews since then. I’m also working on my latest mixtape/album titled “Boats” which stands for “Based on a True Story”. Basically the entire CD is designed to speak about life situations I’ve encountered or I've witnessed. Any listener would be able to connect to at least one song or more on the CD, just because the various topics it covers are universal situations anybody may go through. Whether its divorce, corrupt friendships, love, relationships, etc. whatever it is, this piece of art covers it all.

Shout Out's at Mottz Gigante! Up and coming hip hop artist doing what it do. Presently under the Hand Made Beats indie label. Mottz had a late start in his career. A late bloomer he calls himself, lol. Born and raised in the heart of Bed Stuy Brooklyn. Thing is this didn't stop him for putting in that work. Radio spins and quite a few views on youtube. SPECIALGIFT: You had a late start with you music career and on top of that there was a fear inside of you. Now you have over came that hurdle how does it feel?

MOTTZ GIGANTE: Yes, I started late, during the last few Years of high school. I was watching and listening to my friends at the lunch table rapping and getting everyones attention. I wanted to be apart of that atmosphere but I was too quiet. I thought my rhymes was gonna be weak and I was going to embarrass myself. As I got older, I gained more confidence in myself and my lyrical ability. I managed to overcome my fear.

SPECIALGIFT: Tell us about your affiliation with Hand Made Beats? What
would you say has benefit you from the time to signed on with them
till present? Elaborate.

MOTTZ GIGANTE: I am a hip-hop artist for HandMadeBeats (Hmb). Around 2008, I was introduced to SL Jones by a friend who told me that he wanted to hear me rap. Once he heard my style, lyrics and flow, we made music ever since. Once I got a chance to be around the HMB camp, I knew that this is where I wanted to be.

SPECIALGIFT: What do you have in the making at this time? Give us
complete details.

MOTTZ GIGANTE: Well, at this time my mixtape "The KingsBorough Project" is Out On SoundCloud.com, MixTapeFactory.Com And DatPiff.Com as a free download. I am working on several mixtapes and my first EP "KBP2". I am also trying to shoot more videos for the mixtape. Pretty much trying to stay focused and confident while giving the streets what they really need.

SPECIALGIFT: You have recently won 1st place at the Elegant Hoodness
Musical Program. How did you feel in there arena and win you heard
them announce your win? Would you suggest other inspiring artist to
the program?

MOTTZ GIGANTE: Coming in first place at the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program was the highlight of 2011 for me. I been apart of E.H.M.P for some time now and I never won. A few of my HMB fam, (Neeka J & Mr. Brite) had a chance to be winners. I wanted to experience that, but damn, I NEVER expected first place. SPECIALGIFT: Where do you see your career to be in this hip hop
industry in the next 3 years?

MOTTZ GIGANTE: Just to be heard around the NY Tri-State Area and give the Hip-Hop listeners a chance to hear Mottz Gigante and HandMadeBeats. Maybe get the attention of some a&r's in the industry and hopefully open their ear up to some new unsigned hype. Honestly I never expected to get this far with my talent. Jaeden Zoe definitely has that je ne se pas effect going on for herself. She is a native California and a resident of Brooklyn N.Y.. When I spoke to her manager "Eddie Rosa" about involving her in the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program, my monthly showcase held at club Pyramid in the L.E.S. (downtown Manhattan). I was automatically pleased with her writing ability and catch pop hooks. Her look and sound was a bit different from the average competitor in our arena. But when I listened to her single entitled "Hello" I knew that the Elegant Hoodness audience and supporters would enjoy my new diamond in a rough finding. Dec 21, 2011 four days before Christmas, Jaeden Zoe tour the house down and placed 3rd in the competition. Giving you the reader now the opportunity to know her story and fall in love with her music. I caught up with Jaeden after the competition and discussed everything from being in love, California and the art of song writing. I present to you future pop sensation "JAEDEN ZOE"

A.D. THE GENERAL: How long have you been writing and composing your own music?

JAEDEN ZOE: I've been composing my music since the age of 6 years old when I first knew I had the drive for it.

A.D. THE GENERAL: So you’re originally from California? Born & raised? Is that where you acquired your sound?

JAEDEN ZOE: Yes, I'm originally from california born and raise in Santa Monica but I wouldn't say I developed my sound from my environment because I was inspired by artist like I Blame Coco, One Republic and others.

A.D. THE GENERAL: Some of your lyrics talk about being in love. Is being in love an inspiration for your song writing?

JAEDEN ZOE: Yes I would say it's an inspiration because love is a very rare thing to find in a friendship. With a family member or in a relationship its a healthy form of life that some people aren't use to and hopefully through my music they can feel that feeling.

A.D. THE GENERAL: You have won third place at the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program. How did you enjoy the program and would you recommend the program to another artist?

JAEDEN ZOE: I'm very thankful I had the opportunity to come out and perform and winning third place is a honor to me. I believe any inspired artist with a passion for music will highly appreciate this offer and I would recommend upcoming music artist to take a chance to win.

A.D. THE GENERAL: Who are some of the artist that has influenced you to pursue a career in music?

JAEDEN ZOE: The artist that influenced my career when I was younger was Mariah Carey because she has this distinctive sound that I was interested in.

JAEDEN ZOE: I see myself going pretty far with my music and with the new year motivating the hype. I believe I will be the artist of 2012.

SPECIALGIFT: It's been over a year since we've met at Elegant Hoodness Musical Program NYC Annual Park Tour 2010. Elaborate some on your transition from that time till now.

NEEKA J: I've grown alot as an artist in the past year. I've been working on more material, some outside my usual element, doing shows across NYC and just enjoying life!!

SPECIALGIFT: You recently did a Power 105.1 showcase? Tell us about that?

NEEKA J: The venue was held at Times Square Arts Center, which was exciting all by itself!!!! At the event I met Ms. Maria Davis, R&B group Allure, June Balloon and a host of others within the industry. They enjoyed my show and it was a great experience to be apart of. Shout out to Curt Flirt and DJ Whutevva.

SPECIALGIFT: "Don't Save 'em" , wow how did that title come about? Tell us about the creation of this track.

NEEKA J: Lol, Don't Save 'em is a song expressed from personal experience as well as stories I hear from females and guys all the time. We love someone who doesn't love us back!!! Instead of walking away and taking a loss, we tend to stay around and stick through the hurt, pain, and disrespect to eventually become bitter. Lots of time is wasted and some get upset with the "other person" instead of checking your own boo!! Gotta move em up and out and Keep it moving!!! Before u live life you gotta love yourself. Don't Save 'em!! Like Usher said "Let it burn!!"

SPECIALGIFT: What's next for Neeka J?

NEEKA J: I'm looking forward to an album release!!! I've been working hard and fans have been patiently waiting. I think its time!

JAX1: I mean my name Jax1 basically came about from a graff legend named “Jimmy“. I was always fascinated with the colors and names on the walls in the hood as a kid. JAX1: I mean I’m Blessed I always knew that if the right person was to hear me I’d b able to showcase my talent on a broader scale. I just want to shout A.D. The General out for having these type of outlets from unsigned artist. I appreciate the nomination and I’m just gonna continue to take advantage of my situation and make the best out of it.

JAX1: What separates me from other rappers is, “My Story“. My life is real and my songs are relatable. My concepts are different. My music is refreshing. It’s Hip Hop resurrected.

Misure aka Gentleman is a native of Virginia. He was first bought to my attention by a fellow media personality in NYC (Tim Hopewell). I recall our first conversation via the telephone. He was so full of energy and he definitely lived up to his name. We exchanged emails and less than hour later I was back on the phone with him. Eager and impressed with his ability to create the beat write the lyrics and his vocal ability reminded of another Virginia native (SICO of Dru Hill). I am genuinely excited about this artist and want to remind where you heard of him first. N.A.B. is always bringing you the rawest and purest talents across the country. Today we introduce to you MISURE!!!

A.D. THE GENERAL: Break down your name Misure?

MISURE: Misure (monsieur) is French for gentleman… I Americanized it lol!! I’m still a true believer that being a gentleman to the ladies will always get you further!

A.D. THE GENERAL: How long have you been singing? And what inspired you to start singing?

MISURE: Wow! My whole life, I actually started as a dancer but always sung on the low. As a matter of fact Actor Affion Crockett (Nick Cannon's wildn out) grew up in the same city and we were in the same dance group. Although I was way younger than him I saw early that not only did I want to dance but wanted to perform! Ever since then I broke my singing silence and began winning shows, contests and events all over north Carolina…

A.D. THE GENERAL: You are also a writer and producer, a triple treat. When did you start producing and do you play any instruments? And which do you prefer if any of the three?

MISURE: I started producing hard about 5 yrs ago. I always had the sounds in my head and had to find away to express them. Through a lot of trial and error I finally feel that I am there as a producer. I produce everything from R&B to Hip Hop, to pop and even rock tracks. I naturally play the piano by ear. My dream is the acoustic guitar. I prefer all three. I feel like if you write, produce and sing your own song every aspect is exactly how you envisioned it. Just like making a sandwich. You and you alone put all the right meats, cheeses and condiments to make it the best meal. That’s my analogy of my music. All beats vocals and production are all Misure, No samples baby!

A.D. THE GENERAL: What do you bring to the table that other R&B artists haven’t bought to the table?

MISURE: Well I will never show any disrespect to any artist but I feel I’m bringing back true emotion of R&B. Back in the pre auto tune day’s artist sung from the heart…their lyrics meant something. You could hear the joy or the pain in their voice. I’m bringing back that type of feel in my music. It’s going to make you laugh, cry and chant along with great hooks and meaningful lyrics.

A.D. THE GENERAL: What do you feel about the current state of R&B and has R&B lost its way?

MISURE: I feel it’s been ruined…with a few exceptions in the game of course. It’s all about looks vs voice…remember the Al Green album? Dude had a regular haircut, Kool-Aid grin, and his taco meat hanging out his shirt! today’s listeners would have seen that cover and put it back on the shelf…that album had some of the greatest hits in R&B…smh… People need to realize the voice and meaning of music vs the superficial appearance of an artist… I don’t look half bad though!! lol

A.D. THE GENERAL: If the world could remember you by one quote what would it be?

MISURE: You believe in you before you try to make others believe in you.

A.D. THE GENERAL: Lets start off with the name Charlie Rock what does it mean?

CHARLIE ROCK: Honestly the name was passed down to me by my father. (Not to be confused with Charlie Rock formerly of Terror Squad) The name just stuck with me since I was a kid.

A.D. THE GENERAL: You are from the Bronx NY the Mecca of Hip Hop. Do you feel any pressure to succeed and continue the legacy of some of the greats born in The Bronx?

CHARLIE ROCK: From KRS 1, Melly Mel, Big Pun, to Corey Gunz, Fred The Godson, and French Montana, the legacy is still here and in good hands. As for me, I think it’s a different expectation because I’m a producer. I think the most pressure comes from my self. I know what I’m capable of so I’m my own hardest critic. When you think of the Bronx and its contributions to Hip Hop or music in general, my name will be mentioned when it’s all said and done.

A.D. THE GENERAL: How long have you been producing and what inspired you to pursue a career in music?

CHARLIE ROCK: I've been into music all my life. I started out playing in church and it’s had a hold on me ever since. I’ve only been producing for 3 years now. Its crazy to think about the stuff I’ve made in such a short period of time compared to people who have been producing 10 years plus. I have over 200 full songs done. The catalog is only getting bigger.

A.D. THE GENERAL: How would you describe your style or production and what makes you the next hottest producer in the game?

CHARLIE ROCK: I don’t want to categorize in any genre of music. I want to be known as a producer who can sell a track to Lil Wayne then turn around and sell another track to Justin Bieber. I can make anything in any lane without trying to recreate what someone else has already done. I sound like me!

A.D. THE GENERAL: Do u play any instruments? And is your production sample free?

CHARLIE ROCK: I play the piano and the drums. Spending 6 hours in Church every Sunday when I was little can do that to you. Lol. I have a lot of sample free music as well as sampled beats. I can also take a song and play the whole thing over and give it a new feeling. That’s what being a producer is about.

A.D. THE GENERAL: Who do you dream of producing for?

I also like working with the new artist that haven’t been discovered yet because the creativity with them is limitless.

SPECIALGIFT: Hey Spitzo, what’s shakin (in my SpecialGift voice)? Take a moment to narrate on who Jay Spitz is.

JAY SPITZ: Jay Spitz is Chief Operations Officer and Co-Owner of HandMade Beatz Entertainment also a hard-working street savvy individual. Born and partially raised in the East New York section of Brooklyn before relocating to become a man in Burlington,NC and returning back to the beautiful Bushwick section of Brooklyn. As far as music, Jay Spitz speaks directly to and for the streets and delivers pride to be in and from the places we represent.

SPECIALGIFT: What have you been up to musically in the last 6 months? Elaborate on your future plans.

JAY SPITZ: I've been recording more in the past 6 months preparing a mixtape and album,I plan to perform more in the near future but other than that I’m just going to see where life takes me but of course helping promote my HMB family.

SPECIALGIFT: “The Future” has been getting rotation on On Deck Thursdays with Ms. FeFe N.A.B. and Fresh Friday‘s with G3mz (Team N.A.N. member).. Tell us how this track came forth.

JAY SPITZ: That’s actually a (Detroit Artist) Guilty Simpson track. It’s so hard but I couldn’t find it like the usual beats we jack, Lol… So my business partner SL Jonez saw Guilty at an event and told him we needed the beat and he emailed it to us. We waiting on his reaction, I think I did a damn good job on it… Thanks to Guilty some artist don’t like other rappers using their tracks so that was a generous look on his part.

SPECIALGIFT: You've been doing several track features, anyone you preferably look to collaborate with soon? What’s your perception on the difference of Jay Spitz and the next up and coming hip hop artist?

JAY SPITZ: Doesn't matter. I have a full roster of elite artist and ties to several teams of artist that I will be working with. So I’m pretty much covered on the collaboration end. Jay Spitz is just a real nigga a around. I’ll let the fans and critics determine the difference. As far as Hip Hop is concerned I am not much different than a lot of artist. I have a genuine love for the art. So I’m just expressing it through my point of view. It’s beyond the music where I feel I differ from. Not from just Hip Hop artist but many people in general.

SPECIALGIFT: Elegant Hoodness Musical Program has been around since 2004 and having their 7th year anniversary this Oct 2011. How are you affiliated and elaborate on your experience with Elegant Hoodness.

JAY SPITZ: I was searching for a showcase for the artist on our label and stumbled on a post from A.D. the General. I did some research and was pleased with the opportunities she and E.H.M.P. has available for up and coming artist. We’ve submitted songs to the numerous radio stations A.D. is affiliated with and we had the joy to participate in last years NYC Annual Elegant Hoodness Musical Program park tour. It’s been a wonderful experience every since.

SPECIALGIFT: You have a track called “Conglomerate” that’s been getting a few spins as well. What’s your notion of this track?

JAY SPITZ: I believe Mottz Gigante heard that beat and was like “we should do that Spitz"!! Me, you and Palm”. So I told Napalm da Don about it and we laid it soon after. It was nothing special, we take these other artist beats and “Hand Make” them to sound like our own-nothing new. We’ve been doing that for years. I just love the chemistry and how we all attacked that beat. It was like a continuous assault over he course of three verses but like I said that nothing new. Shout Out to Munch Dawg for the great engineering job. Money well spent!!

SPECIALGIFT: Spitzo, tell us something we don’t know about you. Something interesting we should know. Any shout outs you would like to give?

JAY SPITZ: There’s really nothing because my life is a open book. I am not ashamed of my life because I understand I am human and flawed. I’m going to make mistakes, do stupid sh**, struggle, achieve. Love, hurt, laugh and cry. As we all do so, I don’t hide it. Everyone can get a good idea about Spitz through the music. SPECIALGIFT: You have performed at the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program a couple times. What about this showcase brought you forth again? Tell us in your own words your perception of Elegant Hoodness?

J-MIDD: I love the way the program really helps unsign talent recieve exposure. They work with you hands on and really put forth the effort to help unsign artists.

SPECIALGIFT: Having the opportunity to open up for majors such as BG, Lil Boosie, Lil Jon, and Yung La, must have been a great look at that time. How did you use that experience to move further in your music career?

J-MIDD: It gave me confidence. I was able to really rock the stage before they rocked it. It thought me that great music is only half the battle. You must also be a great performer.

SPECIALGIFT: Do you soon plan to work your way to the north in the next year? Tell us about your latest track.

J-MIDD: Oh yea!!! I be in NYC Jan 18, 2011 for the top ten awards for Elegant Hoodness. I also plan on doing a mixtape with Dj Ace of Spade. J-MIDD: To be honest I was with a girl and she was taking forever and just said baby come on so we could get it on. LOL. I heard the track and just put it with it, put my homie Jawan Mathis on the hook and the rest is history.

SPECIALGIFT: Your motto is "Play to Win", what does this mean to you entirely?

J-MIDD: I treat life like a championship game. If you going to play, losing is not an option. Win is all I know and that's what I push for. So my motto is PLAY 2 WIN

SPECIALGIFT: What are your future plans? Please elaborate on within the next few years.

J-MIDD: My plans is to establish The Thorough Ent label and myself. I want to explore other adventures and travel. I can't rap forever but when I become successful that should be the key to open doors.

RICK FLARE: BEAT ARKITEKZ

N.A.B: Tell me about Beat Arketikz. Who is apart of the camp and when was it first established?

RF Beat Arkitekz: The Beat Arkitekz is myself, Deranged, Onederkid, DJ Glorious and Buttafingaz. We were all producing on our own forever and finally decided we can all combine our talents together and see what works. One Army can do more than a soldier, but an army can't be formed without the soldiers. Feel me?

N.A.B.: When did you start producing?

RF Beat Arkitekz: Um...I think my first setup was some super bullshit, (laughs). I jacked my older cousins Casio keyboard and I had an old ass Sony Radio One Cassette Tape Player. I was about 14 or 15. Then a good friend of mines Money Marv was the neighborhood producer. He let me take his Boss Dr-5 cause he had just upgraded to the Korg Triton. So he taught me the base of shit, as far as sequencing, arrangement, breakdowns. Then he turned around and taught me the Triton. He was a real good dude for doing that, because he had nothing to gain by helping me.

N.A.B.: Who was your first major placement?

RF Beat Arkitekz: Depends on what you call major, I define major by what song had the most impact. I'd say Chyna Whyte. We did a track for her called "Hell N Back" and did the mix and master on it. It generated a real good buzz for us on the underground. The next one was "Crazy Life". That was a track from Big Wy of The Relativez. Big Wy is a dope placement by himself, but when he got The Game on the track made the song even bigger.

N.A.B.: What was the first thing you bought when you got a substantial check from production?

RF Beat Arkitekz: Shit man I got babies to raise, so I put it in the bank. You know how this music business is. You don't know when your going to see your next check, so it's better to stash and save rather than fuck it off.

N.A.B.: Is your production mostly samples or original compositions?

RF Beat Arkitekz: That was the dilemma at first. All of us are from the Southeastern

region, so you know growing up at the time, N.Y. was the dominant force in music. Of course Geto Boys, Trick Daddy, Scarface, UGK, they were beast too but you mostly heard N.Y. on the radio. I was like well I love sampling but the Boss DR-5 I had at the time didn't sample. So I copped an SU200 which sampled, so now I could sample. Then I realized that when you sample it's a ton of paperwork and money depending on the clearance. So I started making beats from scratch. I love sampling to death, but nothing beats making something from scratch an artist hears and is like “wow....this is dope” We can do it all though. We figured it made more sense to study damn near every genre of music and try to create it so we wouldn't be one dimensional. That way, if you have a sound that catches fire, you know everyone is going to emulate it immediately. You can just throw that to the side and hop on something else quick and have a new sound in no time.

N.A.B.: What do you use equipment wise for your productions?

RF Beat Arkitekz: Depends. I transferred over to software about 6 or 7 years ago. Reason is pretty dope, but I love FL Studio as well. It was a rough transition though. Not because of a learning curve, because if your from that 90's era you've been brainwashed into thinking hardware was superior to software. When all the drum machine is, is just a stripped down CPU made to do specific functions. Then I said...well....shit let me give it a try, and I've been moving ever sense. I treat them like I would hardware keyboards. If I don't feel like using reason I use FL, and vice versa. They both have their pluses and minuses. Just depends on what I'm trying to make.

N.A.B.: What do you think is better, analog or digital?

RF Beat Arkitekz: I think both are equally good. I mean I've met dudes who are savage as fuck with an MPC and a Roland XP50 to this day, then I met some dudes and marvel at how they intergrate hardware and software. Each has it's sound though you know, the software has a super clean sound, which is good but Analog has that rough warpy sound, and that's good too. Just depends on your preference on what you want to do.

N.A.B.: What producers influence you?

RF Beat Arkitekz: Mannie Fresh, KLC, that's like my Rick Rubin and Dr. Dre. KlC influenced my drum programming, but Mannie influenced my keyboard production, as far as transitions and breakdowns. Juvenile's "400 Degrees" album I still listen to that because I see what he was doing with the setup. He was rumored to have around this time, it still amazes me. DJ Premier was also an influence on my east coast production as far as chopping samples, like sometimes you don't need some long samples. A 4 count with the right drums will kill any well arranged keyboard beat.

N.A.B.: We know you've worked with a lot of artists. Who do you feel has done something unexpected with one of your beats?

RF Beat Arkitekz: I'd say Teleoso. It was this track I made for Chyna Whyte, she ended up

picking another track. So I shot that to her, and she did this song called "Down". I wasn't expecting that type of song.

N.A.B.: Name 3 of your favorite records that you've produced?

RF Beat Arkitekz: 1. "Down" by Teleoso. 2. "Get Wet III" by Mega Buck$ featuring Zandrina. 3. "Cookies" by Wring-O. The "Cookies" song is getting heavy play in clubs right now, so I think that's going to turn the corner for us.

N.A.B.: Any advice for up and coming producers?

RF Beat Arkitekz: Stay productive and take what you can get. Right now no one knows who's going to be a star in 6 months to a year so work with everyone you can and learn your craft. There's nothing wrong with just banging on keys coming up with melodies, but that will dry out eventually. If you learn your craft as far as scales and chords, arrangements, even researching the history of production, I don't think you can lose. Always do square business, I mean sometimes business fucks up that happens but try hard to not let it be your end of the business that's fucked up. Let the artist be the person with that burden, not you.

N.A.B.: Any last words or shout outs?

RF Beat Arkitekz: Just shout out to everyone that's been holding us down from day one. Just keep rolling with us.

MR. BRITE: Yes I have performed several times at Elegant Hoodness Music Program and each time it taught me more about how to control a crowd (meaning building a better stage show). I also learned how to network with other artist as well as other promoters.

SPECIALGIFT: Tell us about your newest video “Blackout”. Is that your first video? Enlighten us on the process of it.

MR. BRITE: First of all I am so proud of this video because of how tedious my director Brandonsvision.com and I worked on this video for three months. We were shooting scenes during the "Irene hurricane" and it was all worth it .It was a lot of hard work and in the same sentence a bunch of fun.

SPECIALGIFT: What’s up next for you, Mr Brite? Tell us something that would be new for us all, something we can look forward to.

MR. BRITE: Well in the near future I have a mixtape about to be released called Thugz Passion. Coming soon to Mixtape factory. I also will be performing at the Laugh Lounge Nov 1, 2011. Also working with my team mates as well as artist Gorgeous and Mottz Gigante of HMB.

Being from the south Stunna Mane developed a slow paste but that didn’t hold him back. When Stunna Mane decided to be apart of the music industry he started out with managing an artist. During there process, things came to an end and they went there separate ways. That’s when Stunna decided to chance the opportunity of becoming an artist him self. Once he started there was know turning back. He began to collaborate with quite a few up coming Dj’s such as Dj Bobby Jones, Dj Bank Roe, Dj Cable and naming. His first track was than written and entitled “Drunk Gorilla”. This song became a hit throughout Delta, Mi, Atlanta, Memphis, Phoenix and counting. After this release came “Pretty Girls” which has captured the internet world. With not to much experience Stunna Mane has been nominated for two Jackson Music Awards (male hip-hop artist of the year and hip-hop entertainer of the year). Other tracks titled “Bang” ft. Murdah Baby Prod by Nat C, “On Dat Road” “We Be Blowing Strong” “The One They Talk About” “Let‘s Toast To Success” are a few that has been released as well. Making music, massive radio spins, viral promo and showcases has been his format lately. He has recently graced the stage at the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program showcase in Atlanta Nov 2011. Won second place and has gained heavy exposure with his winning. Such as more radio play throughout the globe and interviews in several different magazines. Sunna Mane is definitely on the come up. N.A.B.: Start us off with some insight on the development of Stunna Mane.

STUNNA MANE: Well I was given the name "The Stunna" from ladies at my old job. I used to work on an assembly line building Nissans in Mississippi. We made great money there; I bought everything I ever wanted. Never had thru life in Mississippi and traveled outside of Mississippi to all parts of the country. Even to Alaska while working there it taught me with hard work comes opportunity and thru that came the Stunna Mane Aka Johnny Bang Life Style. That happens when you achieve success in life, you enjoy success because you worked hard for it. No one can take your memories or dreams from you because that's what drives us as human beings, having goals and dreams and a better life. So I based my rap career off my real life ups and downs and serve as a model of "be who you are and u still can make it in the world". Even being a smart guy that stays in the middle of four cotton fields you too can make your dreams come true.

N.A.B.: “Drunk Gorilla”, when and how did this track come about? Will you go on to the next track “Pretty Girls” and elaborate on this one as well.

STUNNA MANE: It's started right after I started rapping and decided that I wanted a way to release all of the energy that runs thru me but I don't dance so I created a away for me to release, with the Drunk Gorilla record. You can bob your head, rock, lean and do your thing to this record. It's an anthem for the club that's filled with passionate drinker’s lol!!!! And as for my single Pretty Girl's featuring ML the truth, I wrote this record to show the power of a beautiful woman over a man and do that in a away that it didn't come off as a dirty record. You know something my kid can sing or even play at a wedding. I wanted to make a classic timeless song to play in appreciation of women.

N.A.B.: Tell us about the latest project you’re working on presently? Please elaborate some.

STUNNA MANE: Right now we are currently promoting via @livemixtapes.com for free download the Drunk Gorilla Mixtape, which it currently has over 34,000 views - that's big for an indie. Also, it has no Dj drops so any Dj that would like to add a song to his rotation can do so with just a click of the download button. N.A.B.: You performed at the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program in Atlanta recently. How did you become acquainted and what’s your intake of the showcase? Would you suggest Elegant Hoodness to other up and coming artist, producers, media and all who’s seeking to be build their buzz to the max with a wide range of opportunities?

STUNNA MANE: I had seen and heard about A.D. the General and the brand Elegant Hoodness for a while on twitter. One day she tweeted about her upcoming awards for the Top 10 indies in NY. I felt like I should be nominated so I had my VP hit her up to check on the business. From there it resulted in my doing the Atlanta show and winning second prize to now a chance to participate in the awards show in New York. I appreciate the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program platform as an indie. I'm pleased with the media package. More exposure is just what I need right now in my career. "The product and brand is solid". I would definitely recommend the program to another artist like myself who is working hard and has made a name for himself but ready for that next level in their career.

N.A.B.: What’s next for Stunna Mane?

STUNNA MANE: Hopefully I can run thru rap and retire soon I really just wanna run a empire I'm a bigger genius than rap a young mogul the next big music machine I wanna take over music and run it off my influence , network , and networth so with alot of hard work I want the whole machine because I feel it's been corrupted and taken advantage of!

N.A.B.: When did you start singing? And do you write your own material?

S.VEGA: Wow I would say I started singing just as soon as I started walking lol my Grandma used to call me "The radio" because she said there wasn't a song out there that I didn't know. As far as writing my own music yes I do! It’s been a journey but I am writing my own material.

N.A.B.: You are apart of Yo Vega Ink and now the newest member of Team NAN/NAB. Tell our readers how Yo Vega got started and the connection to Team NAN/NAB?

S.VEGA: Yo Vega Ink started in 2009 with one member which was myself. The company name was Originally Vega Ent. , Later I met Chris Holmes who had the same passion for music I did. He later learned video work we started working together that's when "Yo Vega Ink" came about. We then met a Male Singer/Vocalist by the name of Anthony Williams who later became "Anthony Anthem" From that point on it’s was like fate and we been growing ever since.

We were introduced to Team N.A.B./N.A.N threw my big brother Rico Ricardo. Who had been working with Ms.FeFe and of course AD The General a lot. He always would speak so highly of them. He would always tell me how I had to meet AD and FE so Elegant Hoodness has a competition here in Kc Mo. That's when it all became official I had met the N.A.B/N.A.N team and things went perfect. Soon we became apart of the team.

N.A.B.: You also do photography and Video Directing and Editing. What inspired to start doing more behind the scene work?

S.VEGA: I was working with a lot of local artist as far as music collaborations and I did co-hosting for T.V shows that played on the East Cost. So i had been around a lot of video editors in that time. I was kind of learning bits here and there from watching. Anyways the people i was working with had a shoot one day that was going to San Francisco. We were all told to meet up at a certain spot, the team didn't show, so I told my self smh I can do it alone. That was it! The video work was born.

As far as photography I started with an internship with a huge company called "Ben Weddle association" located in down town kc. They were doing prints for companies like Wal-Mart and plenty of other big companies. So I got most of my inspiration from that internship. As i grew i did my own photo-shoots started for a friend of mine that was into modeling. Helped her create a portfolio, then later did shoots for Festival flyers, Bill-Boards and album covers and more.

N.A.B.: You are a Native from KC MO. What is your opinion of the music scene in Kc and what you and the artists in kc need to do to create a larger buzz for the town?

S.VEGA: I think Kansas City is a great place to create great music. Kansas City has so many talented people in all areas that have to do with music such as studios, radio and venues that have lots of showcases for local talent that helps the public get to know u some.

As far as creating a bigger buzz, I think we lack support in many ways. We won’t get to deep into that now but I think we are slowly but surely creating a buzz at this moment. We have Artist like Ron Ron, Mon E G that are working with main stream artist and signed to huge labels like Universal Rec. Not to mention here in kc mo is we have one of the largest indie labels in the country ( Strange Musik) that’s techn9ne label. He’s originally from KC also.

N.A.B.: Which artists influence you?

S.VEGA: I grew up listening to Mariah Carey she has been a huge influence in my life. I had every album from her. I also loved Groups like 702, SWV, Total, ABC, New Edition and the list goes on lol. I love old school jams I can listen to that for hours.

N.A.B.: Tell me when you 1^st fell in love with Hip Hop?

S.VEGA: I first fell in love in love with "hip hop" when I knew I had talent, when I learned about all the amazing things that can be done with music. It’s amazing how much music can impact a person’s life. I'll say it this way Music is my therapy.

N.A.B.: How did the phrase G-STeam come about?

GS: The name G-STeam actually came from my brother who abbreviated Global Shyne Team. It was a way to spread the company name and music in by adding G-Steam to their tweets along with the area code he or she is repping. It was also used as a marketing strategy on Twitter, by obtaining trending topic levels. We created a strong buzz and curiosity for our movement. Everyone wanted to rep their city with an area code and G-Steam stamp.

N.A.B: Who came up with the idea to create Global Shyne Incorporated, and what brought about the concept?

GS: My brother, the founder of GlobalShyne Inc. (as I am the CO- Founder), was the one who originated the Global Shyne concept. He actually pitched the idea to me on my birthday in December 2010. Global Shyne Inc. is an army of promoters on one team under one umbrella supporting artists and the music they create. “MUSIC MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND” is our motto. Founded out of Crown Heights Brooklyn, Global Shyne Inc. was an idea put together to house a promotional outlet for unsigned and signed artist to gain more exposure. We do not discriminate, we do not filter talent. We are here to magnify upcoming artists and their music, giving them the chance to shine and show their true talent. We officially launched the organization in January 2011 were amazed at the enormous feedback we received and have continued grinding ever since. Global Shyne Inc. is destined to be a movement with longevity, so keep watching for us.

N.A.B.: Elaborate on what made you want to help upcoming artist shine. Has the entertainment world always been your passion?

GS: Basically I grew up listening to a variety of music such as Patti Labelle, Tina Turner, Ashford & Simpson, Lauryn Hill, Billy Ray Cyrus, LL Cool J, Fugees, KRS ONE, Buck Shot, and more. Music is indeed my passion and I said one way or another I would make a name in the entertainment world. My brother tried to start a rap group with my sister and I called Lyrikal Ecstasy back in the day (lol). Now we were not the greatest, but my sister and I got our props. I knew my calling was more toward promoting music than making it that is how I came to this point today. I am more a behind the scenes type person. Just the love I get from helping artist such as L Jaye, Kendra Williams, Black Frost, Clarisa Rose, Halo, The Good Company, Young Money Dre, Arsiney, J Marsh to name a few, is what makes me want and continue to support up and coming artist.

N.A.B.: You are now an official N.A.B. member. What were your first thoughts about N.A.B.? Did you even know what it stood for?

GS: When I first came across Ad The General and the whole N.A.B crew, my first thought was I need to be networking with them. Seeing the dedication in the movement and the fact that they support the artists with a similar vision sold it for me. I did not intend in the beginning to become a member but it has been a blessing.

N.A.B.: What are your overall duties with N.A.B.?

GS: My overall duties are to promote the movement as well as the artist. My duties are but not limited to writer, promoter, showcase recruiter and co host of "Rockin' Out With N.A.B" on http://streetzradio.com.

N.A.B.: Being that the music industry field is primarily managed by men, how does it feel working with an all female organization?

GS: To me it is a blessing because just like the industry is short in representing femcee's, it also lacks in representing the female moguls and trend-setters. I definitely love the unity and the drive of all my N.A.B Family.

N.A.B.: Being a woman, how important is it for woman to work together in this business being that society tries to make it a competition for us.

GS: I feel that it is very important, because females can be leaders, moguls, on the Forbes list and more. We are not just mothers, strippers (Not knocking them), Hookers, and sex symbols. We have the ability to create a movement that can make history and that is what I am trying to do as a woman, with GlobalShyne Inc., and now also with N.A.B.

N.A.B.: Being apart of one of the most hardest working organizations in the underground, what will you bring to the table to contribute to the legacy of N.A.B. and the on-going success of Elegant Hoodness?

GS: Basically I bring my passion, dedication and love for music to the table. We will continue to bring endless awareness to the movement. “Trust the sky's the limit and we are not going to stop”.

N.A.B.: What is next for Global Shyne?

GS: Global Shyne Inc. is in the process of refining several projects to bring even more buzz to up coming artist through more mixtapes, blog features, radio placements, showcase placements, videos, movies, award shows, photo shoots, shows and more. Also next: Global Shyne Inc. and Low Eyes Records have joined together in efforts to create the Global take over. This joint venture was created to elevate your career/business to new heights. Together we have pooled all our resources and contacts in order to better benefit upcoming artist needs, giving us the tools to promote artists in a whole new light. So there is a lot to look out for Global Shyne Inc. in the near future and a lot going on behind the scene but the final result will be highly worth the wait.

N.A.B.: What advice can you give inspiring young women trying to make a name for them in a positive light?

GS: Basically do not be afraid to make mistakes. You live and you learn so never stop gaining knowledge. Also, you can not do it by yourself so you must stay patient and humble and be willing to do the work and learn from others. Most important, respect yourself and know that you do not have to sell out to make it in this industry…real grind pays off.

N.A.B.: What is your Motto for N.A.B.?

GS: Hmmm, My Motto for N.A.B would be "If you don't want to invest in your future…don't expect others to invest in your present"

E.H.M.P.: Congrats on your win at the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program Sept 21. How did you feel about your performance and your 1^st impression of The Elegant Hoodness?

CHAD PIFF: It’s was pretty cool. Very underground hip hop, I like that!

E.H.M.P.: How long have you been playing the guitar? And what inspired you to fuse hip hop with live instruments?

CHAD PIFF: I started playing the guitar about 4yrs ago, and also play a few other instruments like keys, drums, bass and mpc. One day I woke up and said to myself that hip hop needs a change. Had I dream about “LIVE” sounding Hip Hop (a light Bulb went offfff at this moment)

E.H.M.P.: What is your writing process like? Do you write to a beat? Or do you come up with a riff on the guitar 1^st?

CHAD PIFF: I pretty much sit there with my glass of wine and brain storm I don’t write much (It’s very rare if u see me writing at the studio). Most of the Time I compose the beats but i have no Problem working with new producers. Ohhh and Guitar is usually done last.

E.H.M.P.: How do you describe your style?

CHAD PIFF: Different, Rock and Roll meets Dub step Hip hop, Jimi Hendrix with a Mix of Lil Wayne with drum beats like Kayne "Modern Day Hippie"

Arsiney is an awesome name for this very multi talented artist. Arsiney already nominated twice for an Under Ground Music Award, 2 years in a row. Arsiney joins hundreds of talented artists across the globe for his recent nomination at The Top Ten Artists of The Year Awards 2011. Arsiney is an all around artists. Not only does it produce if own records but also sings on his hooks and delivers pure energy in his stage performance. E.H.M.P: Congrats on your recent nomination at The Elegant Hoodness Musical Program for the Top Ten Artists of the year Award 2011. Do you have any predictions and how does it feel to be nominated?

ARSINEY: Thank you, of course I’d like to win but it feels GREAT to just be nominated. Over this summer I was nominated for my second U.M.A Award (Underground Music Award) and I just put out my NEW mix tape the nomination which was so fitting not only for the moment, me being nominated and all, but also just for what being nominated for anything represents, which is RECOGNITION for what ever it is you are doing. So to be recognized in another award is great, keeps me motivated.

E.H.M.P: You write, produce and sing your own hooks. Your stage performance is superb. What do you think you lack?

ARSINEY: Thanks, yea I give it 100 percent every time I hit the stage. I’m just an artist so what ever way I decide to express my self, whether its rapping, singing, producing, directing, whatever it is I strive to be the best at it, so I don't think I lack anything talent wise because I push my self. If anything I lack the recognition for what I do, but I believe the harder I work ill get where I need to be.

E.H.M.P: If you had a choice between a label that gave you creative control or a label that give you 10 million and no creative control, with would you chose?

ARSINEY: Creative control because being able to make what I want to make is going to bring me longevity and money anyway.

E.H.M.P: Which do you love more? Producing? Or being an artists and why?

ARSINEY: I think producing is all a part of my artistry so I would say being an artist because it incorporates all me gifts and I love them all equally.

E.H.M.P: Where do you think Hip Hop is currently?

ARSINEY: I think it’s in an opportunity phase. It feel’s kind of like it’s back to the roots as far as the business goes, back when labels wasn't signing Hip Hop artist and people were just making the music that they want to make because the money didn't matter. We are in a stage were albums are not selling the way they used to because the internet has made music so accessible people don't feel the need to buy it, which is a problem. But what that did was leveled the playing field so now an up and coming artist has the opportunity to be a star and compete with a major artist, so that’s good. And it forced people to get back to making creative music, and I think we are starting to see more of that creativity in not just hip hop but music abroad.

E.H.M.P: If you could have 5 artists on your all star team who would they be?

ARSINEY: Kris Kasanova, Kanye West, Adelle, The Weekend, Kendrick Lamar

Born in New Orleans, presently based in Atlanta Ga, I present Flyboy Stackz, Up and coming hip hop artist with a massive drive. Producer, artist, actor and model are a few of his many talents. In 1998 Flyboy Stackz decided to explore hip hop and run with it. At the age of 16 his first mix tape dropped. Even though that was a great look at that time and showed his habile, life matters geared him in another direction. He went on to enhance on his education. From the age of 19 to 24, Flyboy had to deal with the blows of life. Presently at the age of 24, FlyBoy knew it was time to catch up and that's exactly what he did. "Mr.2010" hosted by DJ Formula & Platinum family Radio and "Sign Me" mix tapes and his catchy club banger "Crank It Up" has gave him his lead way to growth. Than came "12 Days Of Flyboy", "Get Money Stay Fly" VOL. 2 and "The Check-In" which was released June 2011. Flyboy's newest album "FLIGHT" I hear has the "streetz and air waves going crazy".

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Take us into the current zone of FlyBoy Stackz?

FLYBOY STACKZ: Grind Mode, focused on making good music and building my brand and putting my city and my team on the map.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: How did your pragmatic view of hip hop come about?

FLYBOY STACKZ: Just going through everyday life. The ups and downs of life, I’m fortunate to be able to survive and still be here to turn those events into good music.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: What is your pertinence in the hip hop game?

FLYBOY STACKZ: I AM HIP HOP.... I live it, and breathe it everyday. I'll continue to stay relevant because I have the ability to relate and connect with people on another level. Every artist doesn’t have that, That "IT" factor.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Tell us about the development and course of your newest album "Flight".

FLYBOY STACKZ: The whole "Flight" project is my gift to the game. Developed from real life and daily situations formulated into good music. I worked with some of the best producers in the game on this project. Its course is just beginning; it’s one of those albums that you will appreciate with time. The older it gets, the better it sounds. TIME LESS.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Do you feel your perseverance has been rewarded so far? Will you elaborate?

FLYBOY STACKZ: I feel like my perseverance is rewarded every time I get on the stage and give my fans 100 percent. That’s what it’s all about. Although it has not been rewarded fully at this time financially, it’s definitely coming in the near future. No question about it.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Who would you give credit to in your journey this far? Is there anyone you look to collaborate with in the near future?

FLYBOY STACKZ: I give credit to my team, my fans, and my family. Without them I’m nothing. I’m looking to collaborate with anybody I feel is making good music. Big name collaborations are cool, but I’m not the ride the next man coat tail to get on type. I’m self made... self paid.

E.H.M.P. CATCHES UP WITH SKANKS THE RAP MARTYR

Skanks The Rap Martyr

Skanks The Rap Martyr was born on the U.S Virgin Island of St. Croix until the age one, where Skanks then moved to Crown Heights, Brooklyn. During these years Skanks began his passion for the music business. His big brother Goldz was a local DJ and up and coming producer. Growing up Skanks came across artists such as Das Efx, DJ Klark Kent, Mos Def, Talib Kweli and much more working right out of his basement in a studio his brother built. At age of 11, his main obstacle was getting a chance to prove his skills. That would end one day while getting kicked out of the studio as usual, young Skanks dropped his rhyme book. When the older guys read what he wrote, they were more than impressed. The next thing you know,

Young MC Row, which was Skanks first rap name, became one of the main artists working out of the studio. It was during this time that Skanks caught the attention of hip-hop legend MC Lyte. MC Lyte was just starting her Duke Da Moon management at the time with her partners Lin-Q and Makeeba. MC Lyte saw artist Shanks as a good move for the up and coming company, and featured him as the opening act. This opened the opportunity for Shanks to tour with MC Lyte all over the U.S under the name Problem Child, a name given by Flip mode squad’s Rampage after he saw him perform live in N.Y.C at age 13. With a well-appreciated run, due to MC Lyte being a superstar, she was too busy to put her star power behind Skanks and the other artist on the roster. The company split up eventually forcing Skanks to go the indie route starting LaCosa Nostrand and Anarchy Records.

That did not stop Skanks, as he later on got a call from Klark Kent to come up to a studio so he could see how much the Problem Child grew, at the time, which included a session with Columbia Records artist 50 Cent. Skanks and 50 had a little lyrical sparring session that ended with 50 telling him he was nice. If that wasn’t enough to be confident about, Busta Rhymes met Skanks and his LCN co founder Elgee after listening to their CD and said he was a fan of the penmanship. Skanks received regular airplay on New York’s radio station Hot 97 thanks to morning show hosts Star and Buck Wild. Skanks new mix CD Back From The Future is out now featuring the hit single King Of The Streets feat. Reggae superstar Anthony B. Recently Skanks dropped the critically acclaimed Morning Paper feat. Ras Droppa about the issues that are destroying the world and has been getting good feed back from people all over the world.

N.A.B: So tell us, what does Skanks stand for and what is the concept behind the name?

Skanks: Skanks is just a name that stuck with me from my younger days in the hood.

N.A.B: What was it like being in the presence of your brother's studio and the experience of the artist coming in and out of the studio?

Skanks: It was a great experience I learned a lot from them days.

N.A.B: Who are some of the people in your life and other artist that influence your music? Who have you been compared to?

Skanks: My favorite artist that influence me are the under achievers and underdogs that never got that big brake yet like Haz diggz Elgeezus One Click Bang Cash Bilz and my dudes K.Capone, Holy War and Valentine the great (R.I.P) too many to name but not getting that big break kept them hungrier than the average rapper so it kept my sword sharp being around them. I’ve been compared to Red Man before because of my word play and delivery have been compared to Sheek Louch because somebody said I got that don’t give a fuck ice pick music and NAS because I be dropping jewels hidden in that poisoness shit that they love so much.

N.A.B: What was it like performing and touring with MC Lyte and what did you take from that experience as an artist?

Skanks: But as far as MC LYTE she had me opening up for B.I.G, Wu-Tang, M.O.P. and other legends all at the tender age at 13 it built my confidence to rock any where on the planet.

N.A.B: What was it like sparring with 50 Cent and what did you take from that experience?

Skanks: It was a learning experience because even though I won the battle he won the war he went on to blow up and get rich I didn’t I thank him for the experience though.

N.A.B: How did you become acquainted with A.D. The General and the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program? How have you benefited from this platform and what do you like most about the movement?

N.A.B: What projects have you done up to now and what projects are you working on for the near future? Up to this date, what would you say has been you biggest accomplishment and your favorite project?

Skanks: I dropped tons of mix CD’S on the streets with my LCN organized rhyme family then in 2008 I dropped my own called "BACK FROM THE FUTURE" then in 2009 I dropped "THE FLOWFESSIONAL" in 2010"THE FLOEFESSIONAL2" 2011"MARTYRMATTIC" and I am dropping "Rest In Peace To The Beats vol.1" In October 2011 I think my biggest accomplishment so far I think was being on Young Jeezy's recession tour with lil boosie and ace hood it really taught me the ropes on how an artist and his entourage are supposed to handle business Jeezy team took care of B.I then moved out as 1 body nobody looking distracted and not serious.

E.H.M.P. INTRODUCES M.A.D, MARLON "MAYOR OF KC.KS"

I meet MAD MARLON on Aug 26, 2011 on Grand Boulevard around the corner from Balanca’s Pyro Room the home base of The Elegant Hoodness Musical Program in KC Missouri. He had an awesome wrapped van with his logo and image on it with loads of promo. He gave me a yellow bag with an alien image on the bag in black, with a copy of his newest album and a poster inside the bag. His t-shirt also had an alien image on it and his sunglasses had white tape across his lenses in a x shape. His dreads were super clean and his swag was on point. You can tell the influence he has in the town and the fact that he knew it. I invited Mad Marlon to compete in our E.H.M.P competition and we chopped it up on how important it is for artists to self promote there product and to travel to develop a larger brand. Mad Marlon placed 3^rd and is now nominated as for a Top Ten Artist’s of The Year Award Dec 21, 2011 in NY. Get to know “The Major of KC,KS.

MAD MARLON

E.H.M.P.: What does the name Mad Marlon mean?

MAD MARLON: Well between always looking angry in grade school and a south central friend of mine named Loon, nicked named my Lil brother Mad Man first. Then around early close to mid 90's it just came. Since my lil brother nick name was Mad Man, it was only right that I became Mad Marlon. I later came with the acronym for MAD Music Always Diversified. My mother wore a frown on her face the whole 9 months of her pregnancy. So, I was born with a frown on my face. Mad Marlon being my name was fate I guess.

E.H.M.P.: Where you born in Kansas City Mo? And how do you differ from the average Kansas City artist?

MAD MARLON: No! I was born in Kansas City, KS. It's right next door. We're what you call Twin Cities. I differ from the average KC artist. I think my difference is that I'll go to the extreme to rep the town from fashion, slang, dance, music and styles. I take more pride in representing my city. When you listen to my music you don't hear a certain coastal influence. Such as: slang, style, fashion, culture and music. When people think hip hop in Kansas City, Ks they should think of me. That has always been one of my goals. Also I represent my town from a musical stand point not from an environmental one. I differ also because I acknowledge that in order to put your city on the map; you got to see the rest of the map. I go out of my way to protect the culture of hip hop coming from a Kansas City, Ks, prospective.

E.H.M.P.: You have tremendous energy on stage and you make sure the audience is completely engaged by your performance. How important is it for you to connect with your audience?

MAD MARLON: Very important Tech N9ne, said "he's the pastor and the crowd is the congregation". That's a good way to put it. Also, "you can't download a live show" is what a wise man once told me "seeing a artist live show will give the crowd that one chance to truly see what you’re made of as an entertainer". Connecting with the crowd is the foundation of building a fan base.

E.H.M.P.: I notice that you seem to be pretty established in your city and you grind 24/7 for hip hop. Have you always pushed your own tours? And how important is it for you as an artist to tour in your local area and through out the country?

MAD MARLON: The idea of pushing my own tour came from an older cousin of mine Ric-Hard who stays in Hollywood, Ca. Instead of waiting on someone to take you on tour, he taught me how to get a wrapped van, hit the highway and go. You don't even need a wrapped van; I was driving all over the region years before I got my van wrapped. First get a map set markers in each city you want to go. Save up a budget get cd's, poster's or what ever you can get. Just cd's would do and hit the highway. Rather it be close by cities or far away as long as you’re on the road.

E.H.M.P.: I know you recently had the opportunity to travel with Snoop Dog. What was the name of the tour? And how was it performing with the legendary Snoop? And where can we currently see you performing?

E.H.M.P.: When you sit down to write a song. Do you focus more on your flow or your lyrics?

MAD MARLON: I don't sit down to write songs anymore. Now the vibrations just come. It's like when I hear the best the lyrics just come. The flow could evolve at anytime from writing it, to recording it. It's like if I wrote a song Monday when I go record it Thursday, it's not going to have the some flow as it had Monday.

E.H.M.P.: Do you feel artists from the mid west are underrated?

MAD MARLON: Well when u say, Midwest what artist comes to mind nope I don't think we do.

E.H.M.P.: What or who would you say influences your sound and style?

MAD MARLON: 90's hip hop defiantly. The whole west coast thing influenced my fashion, my attitude and slang Ice Cube, E40, Kurupt and Redman were my lyrical influences. Who basically shape me; until I evolved into my own self contain artistry. Later it was the study of Rock bands from the 60's 70's that influenced my stage performance.

E.H.M.P.: Where do you hope to be a year from now?

MAD MARLON: -In the middle of a world wide global exploitation of Mad Marlon's Brand, on tour and Job free.

GREG P “THE VOICE”

Greg P, born in the Bronx, grew up with the goal of always wanting something better in life. Although he had a strong love for music, he didn't focus on pursuing it at the time as in he felt that if he had to do music as a profession he would no longer love it. The notion later changed once he met a young talented musician by the name of Real Right in 2007. With a new sense of inspiration Greg P then started shaping his image, and his hunger & ambition for music increased. With this confidence Greg P began tearing down shows in hundreds of clubs and show cases throughout the 5 boroughs. His buzz began to build rapidly, not just for his own music at this point, but for his unique talent and creativity in bringing the best out of a song and making it a hit. Greg P was given his newer add-on for his name “The Voice" from his peers. Facing many obstacles in his life, music was the only thing that kept Greg together. Greg's intake on music states that "Music is not just what sounds good, but what you go through." "This is what makes you who you are!” In 2009 he later found his place in "The Lane” which is a movement consisting of young artist that have the same ambitions and goals as Greg, which is to strive for something greater, such as greatness and excellence. Where will Greg end up on this road to success? It's up to him, but from what Greg P. "The Voice" has stated, "The Top". In the words of "The Lane", Keep up or get flown by!

N.A.B: For those who do not know, who is Greg P and what separates you from the other artist?

Greg P: I believe what separates me from other or most artists, is them being who they really aren’t. A lot of times artist say they live or do certain things when in all reality they don’t. Music is not a joke; a lot of people listen to music for motivation, a sense of security and many of these related traits. Therefore when you paint them a pretty picture and it doesn’t turn out to be that, you then are considered fake.

N.A.B: Now your latest showcase with the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program R&B/Reggae event at club insomnia you won 1st place, how did that feel and what has come about since then?

Greg P: It definitely felt great. When you’re competing at Elegant Hoodness and you take that number one spot for the night, it’s an overall accomplishment. At Elegant Hoodness you’re competing amongst a lot of talented artist.

N.A.B: Compared to the many showcases’ you have done before, how would you say the Elegant Hoodness showcase compares to the others you have done? Would you refer other fellow artist to participate in future events with Elegant Hoodness?

Greg P: The Elegant Hoodness showcase actually shows an artist there growth from when they started competing and where they need to be once they grow into the artist they want to be. Yes I would refer any artists in need of a buzz and media to participate at the Elegant Hoodness.

N.A.B: What projects are you working on currently? What are your goals as an artist and how do you see yourself obtaining those goals?

Greg P: I’m currently working on my newest mix tape, I need to find another name for r&b project’s besides mix tapes. lol! It’s called “Take a Good Look” volume 1. The name is pretty self-explanatory. My goals as an artist is to grow and help other’s that want to get ahead in music grow as well. I think coming from a city where everyone wants’ the same thing as far as music goes, and that’s to make it as an artist we need to support each other before we want other’s to support our dreams and expectations. And that’s something that has held us back as a whole. I see myself obtaining these goals by staying focused, hungry determined and keeping the right people in my corner.

N.A.B: Who would you say inspires your music and what motivates you to keep striving to be the best artist you can be?

Greg P: Who pretty much inspires my music are the people around me that look to me for guidance and look for me to make things happen for myself.

N.A.B: What inspires the writing process of your music and do you write your own lyrics?

Greg P: What inspires my writing process is everything I go through in my life. Yes I right my own lyrics.

N.A.B: What artist have you worked with and what artist do you want to collab with here in the near future?

Greg P: I’ve worked with my mentor Real Right, Sean flight, Song list, Cann Cann and the list goes on. To answer your question, I don’t really have a set artist to work with. I’m willing to collab with pretty much anyone that wants’ to make and can produce good music.

Kendall Rease aka Hungry, born in NYC, by the age seven knew he would be harlem's own hip hop artist. His present mix tape out is called "No Thanx 2 You" hosted by Dj Sus One. Hungry's singles "All Mine" and the Rick Ross - B.M.F. inspired "Holla @ Me", this has helped juggernaut his way up. There's passion in his words and voice. An abundance of appreciation and loyalty you will percieve from this up & coming artist. Hungry has been all over performing from Santos to the Pyramid, Fusion lounge & Sullivan Hall which he considers will be his "best performance yet". He has also performed at the Jackie Robinson Stadium "The Dome", which was a Benefit/Peace in the Park concert. Hungry has been interviewed with This is 50.com and Young Jack Thriller "talking about his voice in rap" and much more. "Get it and Go" a single off the "No Thank 2 You" mix tape, spills a flow of being Hungry for his artistry. It's currently on itunes, go cop that :). Than there's "All Mine" already featured on World Star and Hip Hop Weekly. Hungry is in full effect with a tremendous amount of effort put forth. This effort will respectfully open up that door that places him where he wants to be.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Hungry HD means?

HUNGRY_HD: Hungry originated honestly from a song I wrote playing around in class one day. It was a parody of the song Method Man, where I replaced all the lyrics with food related things. Long story short, It wound up being hilarious. Damn near the entire school heard it. One of my homies would call me that all the time and it stuck. It really started to take shape permanently though because I was always that super focused dude. Due to what I've learned and witnessed early in life, I knew if I wanted to become anything other than what was around me, I had to make it happen. I was that kid when every one else was on a team, or just hanging around doing nothing after school or the weekends, I was grinding. Whether with music or nine to five, whatever hustle I had going at the time. I got to a point where I constantly felt like the life I was living absolutely HAD to be temporary. So "Hungry" felt only right because of the relentlessness, determination, focus and belief that a life where I can't give my dreams the true chance they deserve, is a life I can't realistically justify as being worthy of anything.

The HD is a lot more simple lol. I wound up putting "Da Don" on the end of my name just to give it a little extra ring. I was always really laid back as well and I guess you could say a bit of a ladies man. So it felt right at the time. HD was just an abreviation for Hungry Da Don. My name was HD way before we even knew anything about flat screen tvs and such. I decided to drop "Da Don" off but of course once people get used to calling you something for years, they're not going to stop. So, in order to satisfy both and also make it easier for me to be googled lol, I made it Hungry HD. Plus my cousin told me that's how my bars are, like I paint a super clear, vivid picture. He told me I spit in 1080. So he started calling me 1080 and at that point, I felt there was no escaping the "HD".

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Where does your hunger for hip hop stem from? What are some of the highlights you've enhanced so far in your career?

HUNGRY_HD: My hunger for hip hop stems from love. Nothing ever moved me like music, hip hop specifically. I just listened to Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, NWA then people like A Tribe Called Quest, Wu, Jay, Nas, Big etc. I wanted so much to be like them. Not like the average person or kid though because people usually want the life and the persona. I wanted to be referred lyrically and creatively like those dudes. I wanted to be legendary, musically. Now its a bit different because there is no one out there that moves me in the same way. I'm actually uninspired most times. Where as I use to turn the radio on and get motivated, I barely can stand listening to that sh*t for more than 10 mins at a time. So now its still the love, instead of hoping to just become a part of the fabric those guys weaved, the motivation is now to try and help bring it back altogether.

As far as highlights, my mixtape "No Thanx 2 You" would be the first. I've had so many set backs in life. So to be able to cross the finish line on that alone, was a big deal for me. Than for it to receive the love it has so far is a blessing. The Thisis50.com interview would probably be next. We all know how these blogs get down. You only get on there if your making some kind of noise somewhere. That was dope to be recognized in that way. Very close on that list would be this event I have coming up October 9th @ SANTOS. I got the homies Fred The Godson and DJ Suss-One, who actually hosted my mixtape "On the Bill" as well as a few surprises, I'm hoping line up right. It's looking like it's going to be real crazy and probably the largest crowd I've performed in front of. So far, so looking forward to that!

SPECIALGIFTNAB: You have done several shows throughout NYC, including Elegant Hoodness Musical Program. After your 1st pl win, how has E.H.M.P. helped you with exposure? Will you elaborate?

HUNGRY_HD: Yea shout out to A.D. and E.H.M.P got me a lot of much needed web radio promo. After that win and further more, they just put on a cool event, where I could network and grow relationships. I don't think, well "I KNOW" a lot of people don't understand one of the most important things in business and life for that fact, is the relationship factor. Every one loves to talk that "F*ck you pay me" sh*t. Don't get me twisted, money is great but relationships can get you things and places money can't. So on the strength of that alone it was a good look.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: "No Thanx 2 You" has finally been released. Tell us about the success of your mix tape so far?

HUNGRY_HD: Aww man its been great. We pushing towards 10k downloads. I get restless and frustrated at times because I feel like it isn't reaching enough people fast enough. I always remind myself about the big picture though and I snap out of it. There are people who have had a mixtape out for yrs and still haven't hit 1k, so I'm grateful for sure...btw "No Thanx 2 You" hosted by DJ Suss-One is available @ HUNGRYHD.COM RIGHT NOW!!! ITS FREE GO GET THAT!!!! LOL

SPECIALGIFTNAB: What do you have planned next for your fans?

HUNGRY: Well like I said the show/party with Fred & Suss @ SANTOS, which depending on how things go there may be a bigger event to follow. I've been working with the 'nPlay Foundation which is a charity that helps fund low income neighborhoods with programs to stop childhood obesity. We are putting together a fund raiser which will be held somewhere in the city, still in the very early stages of that though, so details soon come. I got approached by an Indie entertainment company about being part of a reality show they're pitching so that's up in the air. I have the "STAY HUNGRY" T-shirt & Button line which has been doing pretty well, so we are looking to release new styles in the coming months. I have several more videos coming out for joints off the mixtape. I've also started working on the next project already but details on that are coming out no time soon because there is no way I'm releasing anything else til I'm satisfied that "No Thanx 2 You" has run its course.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Tell us something about Hungry HD no ones been told yet?

HUNGRY_HD: Wow ummm. Ok I got one... I used to want to be an olympic swimmer when I was younger. Actually it may have been around the time I decided I wanted to be a rapper. I probably should of pursed that, on my Micheal Phelps/Big Daddy Kane sh*t!! lmao, I don't know how good of a look that would've been for the hood but I'd have the internet on smash right now!

Hafa Adai, (Hello) let's go in to the world of Tatiano. With a distintive language and culture, Tatiano breeds soulful music. He than moved to Oklahoma with his family. Being in Oklahoma he has acquainted moreso with r&b which became the foundation of Tatiano. His first single "Can't Let It Go" bought forth great effort and feedback. "I'm all about making relatable soulful music that comes from the heart" is how Tatiano puts it. SpecialGift was blown when I heard it for the first time. As the track lead off it was so soothing and enlightening. Tatiano let his soulful sound go with the flow very much accordingly. As it was of course time to come again, here goes "Game Over". Omgness, dope track its from the heart and soul all the way. Today it's very much hard to find a true r&b artist. Immacuately on point with every tune, this is a rare breed of an artist. Much success will come for Tatiano due to the grace of his artistry. SPECIALGIFTNAB: Taitano, where did you get that name? Who is Taitano?

TAITANO: I’m from the island of Guam. Taitano is a very popular, very strong last name on the island. My mom’s maiden name is Taitano, she made that my middle name, and I made that my stage name to, in a way, dedicate all my music and any success to my mom since she made me who I am.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Your very first single “Can’t let it go” is an amazing track. Tell us what inspired you to develop this single.

TAITANO: I was in this relationship a few years back that fell apart. I moved on and so did she, but I wondered how I would feel if I was still in love with her and couldn’t get over her. So, I wrote how I would feel in that situation. My feeling would be that “I just can’t let it go.”

SPECIALGIFTNAB: What do you think makes your music different from other r&b artist of this time?

TAITANO: Well, there are a handful of artists that are keeping R&B where it’s been. On the other hand, there are a lot of artists I feel that aren’t keeping R&B where it should be. What makes me different from some of those artists is that I’m trying to keep the love and that soulful feeling in R&B. I want to keep it raw as far as material, and I want R&B music to keep giving people the same goose bumps I used to get with R&B music in the past. That’s my mission.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Will you elaborate on your experience with A.D. the General and Elegant Hoodness Musical Program?

TAITANO: A.D. is a sweetheart. She’s thug, but she’s sweet. lol It was a real honor to meet her. As far as the program, I really enjoyed being a part of the program. It’s funny to me because I didn’t even know we were competing! I just thought we were performing to have a good time and have something positive going on. My adviser really didn't tell me that it was a competition. I really didn't know it was until they started calling out winners, and I happened to take 1st place!

SPECIALGIFTNAB: If you were able to acquaint other artist with Elegant Hoodness, what would you say?

TAITANO: The Elegant Hoodness network gives independent artists like myself an outlet for their music to be heard! My music has been exposed to other regions across the United States that I may not have been able to reach because of the opportunities that they provide. They are very professional and consistent I'm happy that I am affiliated with them, if you are not familiar with them you need to become acquainted.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: I’m sure there’s a lot in the making Taitano, give us a heads up on something you haven’t expressed to your fans as of yet. What do you want your listeners to get out of your music?

TAITANO: First off, I want my fans to know that I’m doing what I do for them. I make music for them to enjoy. There’s no point in entertaining when there’s no one to be entertained by it. Lol I also want to thank them for appreciating my craft and all that. When they listen to my music, they should not only enjoy it, I also want them to relate to it and reminisce. They can even consider some of my music as almost therapeutic in their life.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Soulful is the best way to describe Tatiano’s music. Who has inspired you thus far? Please elaborate.

TAITANO: By far, Michael Jackson inspired me. Even though I would listen to different music, I bought only Michael Jackson music until the end of my 6th grade year. Then I got into Dru Hill which is a big inspiration, Usher, and Ginuwine. Nowadays, I look at what Ne-Yo does as far as a writer, Trey Songz and Chris Brown as far as swag and where they take their music to.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: What should we be expecting of you next?

TAITANO: I’m working on mixtape material, just to give away and let spread as far as I can get my material to spread. I’ll be working on a new album pretty soon. Right now, I’m focusing on getting the name TaitanO and Northwest Arkansas out there, since that’s where I reside. I’m performing a lot as well.

Philadelphia artists have always impressed me, I mean from the legendary Roots, to Jill Scott to Beanie and Freeway to newcomer Meek Mills. In keeping with this tradition of super weights, I have run across an artist and movement that might very well be the next run for Philly in Hip Hop. As if I wasn’t already impressed with there swag and stage performance at The Elegant Hoodness Musical Program artist’s competition Aug 17, 2011 in New York City’s prime nightclub for unsigned artists, Club Pyramid. Here comes Non- Fiction to Da Cypha Radio show hosted by Mr 13 & Mr Legacy broadcasted out DTFRADIO.com in Brooklyn, NY and demolishes the freestyle cipher section of his interview. I mean bar after bar, to the point where all the artists in the building had to pay there respect where respect is due. Non-fiction and BME are nominated for a Top Ten Artists of the Year Award 2011 and scheduled to rock Atl Sept24 @utmstudios. E.H.M.P.: Where did you get your name Non-fiction and what does it signify?

BUMPY NONSON: The name Nonfiction came from my style of writing music. I've always been known for telling true stories based on real life experiences through music that listeners are able to visualize and relate to.

E.H.M.P.: Tell the concept to your newest single “whip it to the oil”?

BUMPY NONSON: The newest hit single Whip It 2 the Oils is actually a song by a label mate IRS that myself, Ro, and AK were featured on. The single is controversial as the phrase was previously used in the streets to describe cooking drugs; we gave it a positive spin and a catchy dance that everyone is doing from Philly all the way to Atlanta. Whip It 2 the oils now means going hard at whatever it is you do to make a living and better yourself. As a team Blood Money Ent and Pure Punishment Records wakes up every morning just to whip it to the oils!

E.H.M.P.: Are u originally from Philly? And how do you separate your self from the average Philly rapper?

BUMPY NONSON: I am originally from Philly, however I spent 12 years in Atlanta where I learned to rap and developed a unique style mixing the north with the south. I started rapping in Montell Homes Projects, the former home of Cee Lo and Goodie Mob in East Point, GA. I separate myself from the average Philly rapper by not being afraid to try new things and creating a mixture of different styles of music from stories to hood anthems, while still managing to stay relevant and true to myself as a person and an artist.

E.H.M.P.: What would you say you enjoy more performing, recording or the writing of the lyrics and or creation of the concept?

BUMPY NONSON: Well I'm a writer primarily. I write books, poems, songs, movies, and plays. So naturally, I enjoy the creation of the concept and the whole writing process. However, I do enjoy performing and recording almost just as much.

E.H.M.P.: How do you feel about the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program and the opportunities given to the unsigned artists through out globe? And do you feel about your recent nomination at Top Ten Artists of The Year Awards 2011?

BUMPY NONSON: I feel honored to be awarded the opportunity to work with Elegant Hoodness. Luis Toledo from True Unity Productions and Fiya from Airitout Radio referred me to A.D. the General and the rest was history. The amount of exposure that was awarded as a result of my performance was well worth the drive to New York. My team is very excited to be nominated amongst the top 10 artists of the year! Win or lose, it's a great opportunity for our careers.

E.H.M.P.: When did you first fall in love with Hip Hop?

BUMPY NONSON: I fell in love with hip hop when I was about 8 years old listening to Tupac "I Get Around". I memorized the whole song with my siblings and started writing my own songs. Since then, I've been writing and pursuing the dream of touching the world through song.

E.H.M.P.: Where do you see yourself in a year?

BUMPY NONSON: In a year, I see myself with a better buzz, a few deals on the table, and hopefully being distributed as an independent label "Pure Punishment Records" with "Blood Money Ent". In the meantime, I'm doing shows and events from LA, to Philly and giving the people good music.

You know when you stand up in front of your childhood classmates and start singing; it must be a natural expression. Coming from Poughkeepsie, NY, I present Quandesha, one of hip hop and r&b dynamic artist. Influenced by Mariah Carey and Beyonce, Quandesha is growing to be one of a kind. In 2008 she acquainted with DJ Red Alert and transcribed a promo based on Destiny’s Child “Say My Name” for his 25^th anniversary. DJ Red Alert began to promote this on his show 98.7 Kiss FM mix radio show in August 2008. That has giving Quandesha great lead way in exposing herself. It has giving her the chance to actually even perform on his show twice. Before this, Quandesha had the opportunity to opus with producer Stokes who’s also from Poughkeepsie, NY as well. They have done several tracks together such as “I miss you”, “Shake ya body”, “Street Love”, and “TANK ON EMPTY”. Presently she has a mix tape out called “DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH”. With so much going on the goal of Quandesha is to be able to express her emotions and present her music to her fans worldwide. It’s time to find out more.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: The beauty of hip hop and r&b goes a long way. What contributed to you taking that first step into stardom?

QUANDESHA: My mother was a music lover so she always played music in our household. Some of our favorites were George Michael, Teena Marie, Rick James and 52^nd Street. So, music has always been apart of my life and singing just come natural, as well as writing. Before I finally found a studio I use to record myself on a karaoke machine. Amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. I recoded at a few studios before actually being referred to Stokely and once I heard the finished product of a song we started. It was a wrap from there.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Give us some insight on what you want us, your fans & associates to get from your music?

QUANDESHA: If you listen to my music you’ll see that my songs have meaning behind them. Most people can related to the subjects I write about. I love when I get messages of how my song struck an emotion in someone. That means I have done my job because what I write and sing. Not only do I put my time, effort and energy into it but it comes from the heart. So if you can feel what I felt when putting the song down, that’s amazing.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: What do you think is different from you and the next female hip hop and r&b artist?

QUANDESHA: When you hear artist like Mary J Blige and Keisha Cole you know that it’s them. They both sing r&b but they both have their own sound and stand out. I feel my sound and performance will separate me from just being another female r&b singer. I’m focused on making timeless music. Songs years from now you’ll want to pop in your stereo and still feel like that’s my jam. My lyrics are well thought of and overall produced is produced at its best. The more you get to know me you’ll love the real down to earth person I am. *SMILES

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Who is A.D. the General and what do you know of the Elegant Hoodness Musical Program?

QUANDESHA: A.D. the General is an incredible woman. She is the C.E.O. and founder of Elegant Hoodness Musical Program which helps artist get exposure through the monthly events they hold.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: What’s up next for Quandesha?

QUANDESHA: I’m currently working on my album, booking shows, taking meetings and working hard to make sure the whole world will soon know about me, lol. So hopefully soon I will be in a city near you. Also, I’m open to collab with other artist working just as hard as me.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: I hear you have recorded a hook for a major rapper? May I ask who that was?

QUANDESHA: Well I did reference a hook, actually two for Maino through Atlantic Records. It was a pretty dope experience. The studio was beautiful and the engineer was crazy cool. I had lots of fun. That’s an experience I will never forget.

WHO IS BABY NELSON?

On December 28, 1982 Ricarion Nelson was born and raised in Kc Missouri He’s now also known as Baby Nelson. Growing up his father was a musician and mother was in tuned as well, with the hip hop scene. Baby has grown to love hip hop since the beginning of his time. By the age 17 he has had the chance to see Kurrupt from Dogg Pound (Daz & Kurrupt), while living in Vegas. At that moment Baby Nelson knew it was his time to shine. Hip Hop became clearly what he’s envisioned and understand. Performing all over Missouri even Texas from the American Pub, club Red, club Rain, club Freelons, Pm Crown after hours, Balancas and many more. That’s not even the half, which means he’s definitely on his grind. Baby has opened up for several artists as well such as, the G.E. family in Minneapolis, MN, Slick City, Dj Statz and counting. “Cover Me” which is Baby Nelson’s first mix tape presented by BG Bulletwoundz was released February 14, 2010. As he says “All work no play” while on tour, rocking shows and keeping up with his studies. One of his present singles out “Move,” has been shaking the crowd. He has also put a video out you can explore on youtube. Bay Nelson definitely has his own idiomatic style. We will get further acquainted now with Baby Nelson now.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Being raised in Kansa City, Missouri who has been your biggest influences as you grew into the hip hop game?

BABY NELSON: My biggest influence was my family. A lot of em was already into hip hop (Slick City, BG Bulletwound). I’ve just always had a vibe for music but Kutt Kalhund showed me how to format my rhymes.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: What are your major strengths when incorporating your lyrics to your tracks of choice?

BABY NELSON: Living life. I just speak on everyday life terms for young men coming up.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: Give us some insight on your newest single out? Elaborate about the songwriting and recording process. Would you consider this single different from your other work or in the same aspect?

BABY NELSON: All my music is different. As far as my single, I wanted a song that will make people want to move, as well as relate to my vibe.

SPECIALGIFTNAB: You just did a showcase at Balancas in Kansas City, August 27, 2011. What is the name of that showcase and how did you come to know about it? Is there anyone you would highlight as far as putting the show together?

G-STRONG A HIP HOP GLADIATOR

At first glimpse you think G-STRONG looks like a character from the HBO series Spartacus. Standing 6’2” 250lbs the average person could be intimidated by such stature. When G-STRONG hits the stage with his DJ Shuttle and The Strong Models and begins to rap you automatically get in tuned with his energy and vibe as a Hip Hop Artists. He has already won two consecutive times at The Elegant Hoodness Musical Program and has been nominated for a Top Ten Artists of the Yr Awards 2011. Today I re introduce to you G-Strong aka Hip Hop’s Gladiator.

E.H.M.P.: How do you feel about your recent nomination?

G-STRONG: I feel incredible! It’s an incredible feeling to be recognized for your hard work and the passion you put into pursuing your dream.

E.H.M.P.: When did you first fall in love with hip hop?

G-STRONG: I fell in love with hip hop was when I heard Run DMC’s song “Sucker MCs”. It drove me bananas, and coming from the same neighborhood (Queens), I knew it was something I could definitely do.

E.H.M.P.: What separates you from the average rapper?

G-STRONG: Besides being a 6’2”, 250lbs body builder, it’s my positive outlook on life that influences my creative process. My songs deliver motivation, inspiration and the will to just keep living a positive life despite the cynical world we live in.

E.H.M.P.: Do you consider yourself a lyricist?

G-STRONG: Definitely! I try challenge myself with each verse I write. I think outside of the box and enjoy being creative and using my imagination to really make people think about and analyze my words.

E.H.M.P.: How important is it to connect with your audience during your live performance?

G-STRONG: Thank you for the compliment. Connection with my audience is the key for giving the fans a great show that they will always remember. It’s important for them to feel like they are a part of the show.

E.H.M.P.: Which artists would you say if any influence your music?

G-STRONG: I’m influenced by any artist that puts their heart and soul into their music, such as John Legend, Cello Green, LL Cool J and Mary J. Blige.

E.H.M.P.: I know you’re from Strong Island but were you born there? Tell me more about the Strong Island movement?

G-STRONG: No, I was not born in Strong Island but I’ve been living here for most of my life. The Strong Island movement represents talented aspiring artists, promoters, producers and many others who want to see Strong Island back on the map.
